And for those who somehow manage to guess the plot twist in every single movie they see, we’ve rounded up some of the most Unexpected events, that are sure to surprise even the most clairvoyant among us:
Sonic Alliance, 5-7 July
Expect the unexpected when the Diffraction Collective presents three nights of live music, projection and visual art, roving performers and experimental cocktails, and a few other surprises. This is the perfect space to chill before or after.

Lucky Dip Tent, open randomly – stay alert!
This is exactly what it sounds like – pay $5 at the door to see a 15-minute mystery show. It could be comedy, drama, music, dance, you may even hit the jackpot and get a celebrity! Are you brave enough to take a Lucky Dip?
The Lucky Dip tent will open at random times during NAFA in Queens Gardens. Entry is $5 on the door.
Thunder Fox supported by Mr Michael: 12 & 13 July
This 6-piece independent act promises to get you up and moving. With heavy bass, a bit of brass, impressive falsetto and some serious 70s style, you’ll find it impossible to pigeon-hole these guys. But it’s sure to be a good time.

Speakeasy ft Ugly Bunyip Band, Rizon Live and Ashcats Sound System: 13 July
With electro-swing Speakeasies taking some of the Globe’s biggest cities by storm, this is the perfect opportunity to discover the glitz and glam for yourself. Fashion yourself as a silver screen dive or a Charleston flapper and dance the night away!
The Speakeasy kicks off at 7.30pm in The May Wirth, Strand Park. Tickets are $35 and available here.
Fantastica: 20 July
See Latin Vibrations’ dancers as you’ve never seen them before when they join forces with Cajam Circus and Townsville Pole Fitness to transport you to a whole new world. With more than 50 dancers dishing up everything from Brazilian Samba to contemporary, and a story that’s open to your own interpretation, anything could happen.
Fantastica takes flight at 6.45pm and is recommended for audience 15+. Tickets are $20 and available here.
